Geographical Areas
As per constitution of the organization, the whole country is the geographical coverage of the organization. Since its inception Karmojibi Nari engaged with the workers of RMG, textile, leather, sea food processing industry, migration, sanitation, waste colector/cleaner, agriculture, and other informal sector workers including domestic workers in the districts of Dhaka, Gazipur, Maymenshingh, Faridpur, Barguna, Bagerhat, Rajshahi, Manikgonj, Norshingdi, Rangpur, Gaibabdha, Dinajpur, Kushtia and Feni. Besides, KN was a member of a big Campaign titled Sustainable Rural Livelihood (CSRL). In this campaign KN is the Lead of the Plain Land Campaign Group and works with local NGOs on partnership basis in 15 districts of Bangladesh. These districts are Netrokona, Manikgonj, Norshingdi, Rajbari, Bogra, Chuadanga, Pabna, Rangpur, Sherpur, Thakurgaon, Dinajpur, Jhinaidah, Chandpur, Kushtia and Jamalpur.
Brief Description of Intervention
The main areas of KN involvement are gender equality, worker’s rights and economic justice. During last 30 years, KN implemented and still implements different development projects supported by Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC); International Labour Organization (ILO); German Cooperation (GIZ/GTZ); European Union (EU); United Nations Foundation (UNF); Royal Norwegian Embassy (RNE); Action Aid Australia; Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES); Action Aid Bangladesh; DGB Bildungswerk; Christian Aid, CARE Bangladesh; Fare Wear Foundation (FWF); UKAID, Department for International Development (DFID); Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF); Oxfam GB; Oxfam Novib; Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA); BRAC; LINDEX; INFANS; War & Want; H&M and Sustainable Agents, Germany (SUSA)
